Go with the Flow (Part1)

4 Feb

Hi there, this is my idiot’s introduction to flow charts and data flow diagrams (DFD).  Flow charts and DFDs are both basically pictures displaying information. There are normally used to show a process of sequenced information they can be very useful for businesses. For example if a company had a business plan they wanted to implement flow charts and DFD give the company:

  • A preview on how  roughly the business plan would look step by step
  • This then can give better clarity quicker on understanding the business plan then  simply reading it in a long text form
  • And you can keep adding to flow charts and DFDs, meaning if the company are unhappy with how the business plan works they can keep changing it incrementally until its reaches their satisfaction

Here is a small example of flow chart we students commonly use for  decision making  on wheter to get up in the morining
