Go with the Flow (Part2)

12 Feb

Hi again, and well done. If your reading this you have survived another week of life so that’s good start. Now the do’s and the don’ts of the flow charts and DFDS..First the don’ts: don’t miss this article and now the do’s: do read this article because it will tell you how to start and make your own flowcharts and DFDs.
Okay so there are four basic symbols you need to know before you start

    1.The  Terminal
Its the shape of a oval or circle, we use it like we don on board games to indicate start and finish

    2. The Flow Line
The flow line is the connector cable between all the flow charts objects and tells us the progression of ideas. the symbol shows the logic of the flow in a positive direction

    3.The Process
It’s the boring shape of a rectangle(and is sometimes called the statement) and tells us that some action is to be taken with the data we know

    4. The Decision
It’s the shape of a diamond and is the sign that a decision in  has to must be made  e.g. yes or no

    figure1

Here is an example of a flow-chart  for example when we toast bread in the morning using all the symbols i discussed above
    Toast Flow Chart flow-chart1 (1)

So there you go you  too can make your own flow chart.( assuming you have nothing else better to do with your life of course).  next week in part 3 I will be telling you how to spot the difference between flow charts and DFDS. And Please comment below
