SDLC: V-Model Overview

17 Feb

An example of SDLC is the V-Model. This model is similar to the waterfall method.  The V-Model runs in sequence so before the next step is commenced, the previous must be completed.  However, testing seems to be conducted more often in this model than the waterfall model. Testing procedures are drawn together early on in the SDLC, before any decoding is done.

Some advantages of the V-Model include:

1) Simple and easy to use

2)Each phase has specific deliverables

3) More of a chance of success compared to the waterfall model as testing is done at every stage and early on in the sdlc

4) Works very well for small simple projects
