Failures in IS can come from various aspects such as: Project Management, Engineering Principles, Organisational Change and Change Management.
Also from my reading of this article http://hiicp.org/info_clinical/IT_Failures/info_clinical_IT_Failures_03.html ,
specific issues have come to my attention which also contribute to failure in information systems such as: professionalism, formal training, research, good communications, leadership, risk management and ownership.
It is evident that these factors play a major role before, during or after the implementation of the Information Systems and will be discussed in turn.
In my opinion the main reasons that IS projects are failing are because of Lack of research, risk management and long-term commitment.
Let me know what ye think of these ideas and please post if ye have any input.
