As this is my last blog😦 , I decided to look into how the Agile Methodology may look like down the line….
Agile; what does the future hold?! Will Extreme Programming, Scrum and Lean all merge?
If you are familiar with XP, then it’s probable that you won’t wish to move to competing software. Perhaps, the using of Scrum for improved scalability may work however. Within iterations, business meetings, these are present in XP already. All the Agile software approaches tend to harness both creativity and adaptability, as opposed to more regimental approached with traditional methods of software development.
XP and Scrum garner much enthusiasm, due to the practices and tools which really ‘think outside the box’!
The future of Agile Development Software.
Could it be a natural progression that all Agile practices will merge into a single framework? Similar to the putative Final Theory in physics (which states that all links can be joined, and thus predicts a desire outcome can be carried out in principle), Simplicity should be the foundations of this end result. Creativity should be at the cornerstone of any such conclusion, in addition to in depth communicating, feedback and learning.
Currently, Agile software has barely gone past its infancy, presently the move from Waterfall to Agile is being undertaken, this has been realised more practically than theorically..
In time, I feel we will have more knowledge of the Agile roots and the reasons for its huge success. This understanding should pave the way for more simplified transitions and we can adopt more useful solutions and create a best practice framework for the Agile methodology. To date, Lean and Scrum seem the forerunners to this ideal. Lean is general, whereas Scrum could be regarded as more simplistic. With its set of best practices, XP is somewhat more complex..
Who knows what the future may hold, but I conclude that there may well be an allied Agile software solution in the not too distant future…
I have very much enjoyed writing these blogs and the research process which provided me with the information Ive written about. I hope those of you who have read my blogs, have enjoyed them…
